More Information
"Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign. But stories can also be used to empower, and to humanize.
Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity."

- Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

We Need Curricula That Work For EVERYONE.

That means stories which holistically reflect and represent the country's races, genders, and sexes.

Why Are We a Student Run Organization?

Picture

Change must happen NOW.

Racism kills. It is a problem that must be solved as soon as possible. We cannot wait until we turn 18.
Picture

Student experiences inform change.

As students, we get a current idea of what the curriculum is, and what needs to be reformed.
Picture

Community connections.

Students can interact with other students, parents, and teachers to make curriculum change that works for everyone.

How we are helping

ECAAR is dedicated to Asian Pacific American (AKA. Asian American Pacific Islander or AAPI) history, but we also want to lift up other organizations and people, because our goals are the same: ending racism.
Picture

AAPI History, Structurally

We want to ensure the teaching of Asian and Asian American history in our schools. We are writing curricula and collaborating with teachers and students.
Picture

AAPI History, non Structurally

School is important, but there are other ways to learn. We are hosting a webinar this year to educate people on AAPI history, and are working on other resources too.
WEBINAR: PERPETUAL FOREIGNER

Community Building

We want to build a community that lifts others up and helps them thrive. We feature AAPI organizations, artists, journalists, writers and more.

We are on Weebly because, as a student-run organization, we have several people that may need to edit the website. Weebly's simple UI makes coding experience not a requirement to help with our website. Please know that all of the information we present is backed by reputable sources, linked in hyperlinks in every paragraph.
